FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE -- Brooklyn, NY -- July 21, 2004 -- Star Mark Management Inc., 1101 Metropolitan Ave., Brooklyn, NY 11211, is recalling "Fortuner's Dried Vegetable," because it contains undeclared sulfites. Consumers who have a severe sensitivity to sulfites may run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reactions if they consume this product.
The recalled "Fortuner's Dried Vegetable" is packaged in uncoded, 12 oz., clear plastic bags. The product was sold in the New York City area.
The recall was initiated after routine sampling by New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets Food Inspectors revealed the presence of sulfites in "Dried Vegetable," in packages which did not declare sulfites as an ingredient on the label.
No illnesses have been reported to date in connection with this problem.
Consumers who have purchased "Fortuner's Dried Vegetable" are urged to return it to the place of purchase. Consumers with questions may contact the Star Mark Management, Inc. at (718) 486-0188.
