Toft's Ice Cream Parlor Issues Allergy Alert on Undeclared Peanut Butter Cups in Moosetrack Cake

Port Clinton, OH - November 30 -- Toft's Ice Cream Parlor of Port Clinton, Ohio is recalling its Moosetrack Ice Cream CAKES because it may contain undeclared peanut buttercups. People who have allergies to peanut butter run the risk of serious or life threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products.

The recalled cakes were distributed in Ohio to the following locations: Community Market of Oak Harbor, and Bassett's IGA and Toft's Ice Cream Parlor of Port Clinton, Ohio.

No illnesses have been reported to date in connection with this problem.

This recall was initiated after it was discovered that the cakes were distributed in packaging that did not reveal the presence of peanut buttercups. Subsequent investigation indicates the problem was caused by temporary breakdown in our packaging and labeling process.

Production of the product has been suspended until FDA and Toft's Ice Cream Parlor are certain that the problem has been corrected.

Any consumer who has purchased Moosetrack Cake is urged to return it to a Toft's Ice Cream Parlor or the place of purchase for a full refund. Any question please call 1-419-732-8857
