Viscusi Wholesale Grocers, Inc. Issues an Allergy Alert on Undeclared Eggs in "My Country Sweet Honey Dijon Mustard"

Schenectady, NY - December 11, 2001 -- Viscusi Wholesale Grocers, Inc., Schenectady, New York, is recalling "My Country Sweet" brand of Honey Dijon Mustard, UPC code 81319-81991, because it contains undeclared eggs. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to eggs or egg products run the risk of serious or life threatening allergic reactions if they consume this product.

"My Country Sweet" Honey Dijon Mustard is packed in 8 oz. glass jars. It is sold in grocery stores in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Pennsylvania and Massachusetts. Approximately 1,200 jars have been distributed.

No other varieties of "My Country Sweet" Mustards are affected by this recall.

The problem occurred when changes were made to the labeling, and eggs were inadvertently removed from the ingredient statement.

There are no known illnesses associated with this product.

Consumers who have purchased My Country Sweet Honey Dijon Mustard: UPC Code 81319-81991, are urged to return it to the place of purchase for a full refund. Consumers with questions may contact the company at 1-888-607-2823.
