Vogel's International Bakery Recalls Several Products Due to Undeclared Eggs and Soybeans

Utica, NY - August 14, 2002 -- Vogel's International Bakery of Utica, New York is recalling Cheese Babka, Crumb Topping Babka, Hard Rolls and Rye Bread because it may contain undeclared eggs; and Heavy Italian Bread because it may contain undeclared soybeans. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to eggs and soybeans run the risk of serious or life threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products.

These products were distributed in Utica, New York where the product was distributed through retail stores.

The recall initiated after it was discovered that product containing eggs and soybeans was distributed in packaging that did not reveal the presence of eggs and soybeans.

Consumers who purchased Vogel's Cheese and Crumb Babka, Hard Rolls, Rye Bread, and Heavy Italian Bread are urged to return it to the place of purchase or direct to Vogel's Int. Bakery for a full refund. Consumers with questions may contact the company at (315) 735-2691.
