Wegmans Announces Voluntary Recall of Wegmans Brand Graham Crackers

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE -- Rochester, NY -- May 21, 2003 -- Wegmans Food Markets, Inc. is initiating a voluntary recall of the following products (all dates and codes):

Wegmans Honey Graham Crackers, 16 oz.
Wegmans Low-Fat Honey Graham Crackers, 14 oz.
Wegmans Cinnamon Graham Crackers, 16 oz.
Wegmans Low-Fat Cinnamon Graham Crackers, 13 oz.

The products are being recalled because they may contain sulfites, which are not declared on the label.

No illnesses have been reported to date. The recall of these products is of concern only to those individuals who are sensitive to sulfites. Consumption may cause a serious or life-threatening reaction in persons with sulfite sensitivity. Concerned customers should return the product to Wegmans for a full refund.

Wegmans Graham Crackers are sold exclusively at Wegmans Food Markets located in New York, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey. Wegmans' customers who have questions or concerns about this recall should contact the consumer affairs department at 1-800-WEGMANS.
