Agrilink Foods Initiates Recall Of Greenwood Sliced Pickled Beets
Rochester, N.Y., March 15, 2000 - Agrilink Foods, Inc., Rochester, N.Y., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Pro-Fac Cooperative, is voluntarily recalling approximately 3500 cases of Greenwood brand Sliced Pickled Beets in 16-ounce jars, with lot number 9AHO1 00:00 M2KP6 (the four zeros indicate the position of a time stamp). This action was taken after it was determined that some jars from this lot may contain fragments of glass.
This product was distributed to grocery store distribution centers and wholesalers in Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Maine, Maryland, New Jersey, North Carolina, and Pennsylvania. Subdistribution outside these eight states is likely.
Consumers should look for a fourteen digit, two line code located on the lid of the jar. The first five digits are 9AHO1 and the bottom five digits are M2KP6.
No reports of injury associated with this product have been received to date. The Company was, however, alerted to the problem via three consumer reports of glass in the jars.
Consumers who have the recalled lot of Greenwood Sliced Pickled Beets should either discard the jars or return them to the place of purchase for exchange.
Any questions should be directed to Agrilink Foods Consumer Relation's Department at 1-800-270-2743.
