ANNOUNCEMENT NO: RA-04-062L

POSITION: Research Plant Pathologist/Microbiologist/Research Molecular Biologist/Research Geneticist

LOCATION: St. Paul, Minnesota

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES: The incumbent will be a member of a team investigating the genomics of plant-pathogen interactions involving cereal diseases caused by fungi. The project involves microarray analysis of the interaction between barley or wheat and the fungal pathogen, Fusarium graminearum. Genomic resources available include a high quality 10X whole genome sequence of the fungal pathogen as well as barley, wheat and Fusarium Affymetrix GeneChip microarrays.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Ph.D. in plant pathology, microbiology, molecular biology, genetics or related discipline required. The following knowledge, skills and abilities are desirable: knowledge of functional genomics, bioinformatics and computational biology; and skill in microscopy and cellular imaging.
