The links are no longer being updated. 1992.11.27 : Medicare Premium Contact: Bob Hardy (202) 690-6145 November 27, 1992 A notice to be published in the Federal Register announces that Medicare beneficiaries enrolled in Part B (Medical Insurance) of the Medicare program will pay a monthly premium of $36.60 in 1993. Part B of the Medicare program pays for physician services, outpatient hospital services and a variety of other services not covered by Medicare Part A (Hospital Insurance). The premium rate was legislated by Congress in the Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act of 1990. Also announced is the 1993 monthly premium of $221 for certain persons who are age 65 and older, uninsured for Social Security or railroad retirement benefits, and who do not otherwise meet the requirements for entitlement to Medicare Part A.
