  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP)

The purpose of the EAP is to provide information and referral services, short-term, professional, and confidential counseling to employees who are experiencing job-related or personal problems. The Employee Assistance Program provides information to employees about their local community and services in general. In many locations where our employees are located, there are local resources available to assist with family concerns.

The EAP provides assistance and/or referral in the following areas:

    • Day Care/Elder Care
    • Drug/Alcohol
    • Emotional/Trauma
    • Family
    • Financial
    • Interpersonal/Worksite Issues
    • On the job performance/conduct problems
    • Relationships/Marital
    • Trauma Debriefing
    • College/Entrance Requirements and locations

EAP Counselors are Ph.D. Psychologists or MSW Social Workers licensed to perform clinical services in their respective states. When employees call the EAP, counselors will refer them to an EAP therapist located near their office or home. Employees located at the agency headquarters can take advantage of the full-time clinician located on-site.

EAP counselors can assist the employee (and family members) in resolving personal and workplace problems by assessing, planning, and referring them to appropriate services. Employees are entitled to a limited number of visits to meet with an EAP counselor at no cost to the employee. During duty hours, with permission from the respective supervisor, the employee may use administrative leave to meet with an EAP counselor. Otherwise they are free to make an appointment with an EAP counselor at their convenience. Employees do not need approval from their supervisors to call the EAP or to see a counselor on their own time.
