Welcome to U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services.
This section provides information to introduce you to U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) within the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). It also provides information about various administrative and management functions and responsibilities now within the DHS that were once in the former Immigration and Naturalization Service.
You will notice that, for now, many of the links to our mission, strategies, goals, plans, budgets, and accomplishments are dead or under construction while DHS-specific information on these topics is being developed. As this information becomes available over the coming months, it will be published and recorded on the What’s New?
From this section, Congressional offices can still find out how to file a request for information. You can also learn how to file an immigration-related Freedom of Information/Privacy Act (FOIA) request. The History, Genealogy and Education section provides interesting information about immigration history, about immigration in our history and about how to find out more about immigrant relatives.
