October 2004 Combat Utility/MC Combat Boot requirement dates.

to see requirements by fiscal year. Bottom line - by 1
Oct 2004 you will be required to have 4 sets of utilities (2
of which will have to be combat utility - 1 desert; 1
woodland - the other 2 pairs can be either combat utility or
camouflage utility). Camouflage utility uniforms may
continue to be worn until 1 Oct 2006. Black/green
boots (except special issue/safety boots) are obsolete as of
1 Oct 2004 and may no longer be worn. After 1 Oct 2004
you will wear the rough-side-out MC combat boots with all
utility uniforms.
Special
Issue Utility Uniform Allowance for Sailors (SIUUA).
MARADMIN
150/04 authorized a change to the SIUUA, but did not provide
funding. Please review the following link (SIUUAPage)
for additional guidance on this
issue.
Brown,
Rough-Side-Out Steel-Toed Jungle Desert Boots Now Certified
and Authorized for Wear.
The authorized boots are
made by Bates Shoe Co. and are available in almost all MCX's
and also online at www.batesfootwear.com.
The style # is E40501 (see the Bates
Flyer). These boots may be worn per the
commander's discretion. Black safety/steel-toed boots
are still authorized for wear.
Wear
of Optional Green Undershirts.
Per MARADMIN 199/04, you are authorized to wear optional
plain olive green long-or short-sleeve undershirts of any
material as long as it meets your command's minimum safety
requirements (i.e. no polyester blend fabrics in many
aviation commands when in a flight status) and has a
Marine Corps approval certification number on the inside
back collar of the shirt. If that certification number
isn't there then it isn't authorized for wear. Shirts
with visible brand logos will not be certified and cannot be
worn with the uniform. See paragraph 3036.1c of the
Uniform Regs (see left) for specific guidance.
Officer
Rank Insignia on Combat Utilities.
Per MARADMIN 199/04 officer rank insignia (LtCol-CWO5) will
be worn parallel to the deck vice the collar's
edge. Here is a graphic representation of what it
should look like - Officer
Rank Insignia. Col rank insignia will be worn so
the that eagle's wings are perpendicular to the deck. See paragraph
4005.3c of the
Uniform Regs (see left) for specific guidance.
Optional MC
Combat Boot (MCCB) Policy. Per
CMC decision (MARADMIN 112/04) there is now an optional MCCB
Program. Optional MCCBs will be the same in design as
the issued MCCB, but will have different soles. All
authorized optional MCCBs will have a Marine Corps approval
serial number on the inside tongue of the boot and
the MC emblem on the outside heel (must have both items to
be an approved boot), and will meet your minimum
requirement. See paragraph 3012.e-f of the
Uniform Regs (see left) for specific guidance.
Wear
of Civilian Headgear Indoors.
Per PMCUB decision of 29 Jan 2004, the following statement
will be added to paragraph 1005.2.a of the Uniform Regs:
"...will be permitted. When aboard a military
installation, civilian headgear will be removed indoors, except
that women may wear headgear indoors in accordance with
established norms. The wear of clothing
articles..."
