Navigation Tips

MMS's website contains hundreds of pages. Here are a few tips that can help you navigate our website a little easier.

Each Region (Alaska, Pacific, and Gulf of Mexico) and major program areas within MMS are responsible for maintaining their own information on the web. While the information may vary from Region to Region, all of our pages have a similar look and feel.

A common masthead, located at the top of each page, can be used to quickly navigate to several pages on our site.

Sample navigational horizontal toolbar for the Gulf of Mexico website   At the left of each page is a button bar.   These buttons provide quick and easy links to main topics of information at the Regional level.

The button bar may change from page to page and from Region to Region, but it is always a good place to scan for subtopics of interest.

At the bottom of the button bar you will find a link to contact information, as well as the date the page was last updated.

Since there are so many pages in the MMS web site, the quickest way to locate information may be to do a text search using the Search button at the top of the page.   You can also locate major topic areas by using the Topic List button at the top of the page.

Once you have found the location of topics within MMS's web site that interest you, be sure to use the bookmark or favorites feature of your web browser to save its location.   Good luck and happy browsing!
