Road Safety is the
theme of this year’s annual World Health Day celebration, led by the
World Health
Organization. On April 7, events will be held worldwide to raise
awareness about road traffic injuries and public health approaches to
prevention.
In the United
States, the U.S. Department of Health and
Human Services (DHHS), the
U.S.
Department of Transportation (DOT), and other partner
organizations are coordinating events to bring attention to the
problem of motor vehicle deaths and injuries in the United States and
around the world. Each year, road traffic injuries kill more than
a million people around the world and injure tens of millions more.
CDC will update
this site with more World Health Day information as it becomes available. |
