To All Americans
U.S. Secretary of Commerce Donald L. Evans will participate
in a major broadband announcement made by SBC Communications,
Inc. on Monday, October 25 , 2004 in Grove City, Ohio. Evans
will discuss how the Bush Administration’s policies
are paving the way for U.S. businesses to be more innovative
and successful as well as enabling businesses to create more
high-paying U.S. jobs.
Evans
will be accompanied by Governor Robert Taft, Grove City Mayor’s
office, President of Ohio Chamber of Commerce Andrew Doehrel,
President of SBC Ohio Connie Browning and President of network

IOWA MANUFACTURING FIRM
Dr. Kathleen Cooper, Under Secretary for Economic Affairs,
is pictured with Senator Charles Grassley (left), and Patrick
A. Tuttle, plant manager for
Guardian Industries Corporation, following a tour Monday at
the company’s facility in DeWitt, Iowa. Under Secretary
Cooper and Senator Grassley also met with employees and executives
of Guardian, a global manufacturer of float glass and fabricated
glass products. Prior to the Guardian event, Dr. Cooper toured
two other eastern Iowa manufacturing facilities and was the
keynote speaker at the Muscatine, IA Rotary Club luncheon.
She discussed economic issues and the positive impact the
President’s policies on the economy in Iowa and the
nation as a whole.
