The synergy between "Los Dos Laredos" - Laredo Texas and Nuevo Laredo - makes Nuevo Laredo one of the most vibrant cities along the border. Here, two Nations share culture, international trade, politics, and much more! The United States Consulate in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico is America's oldest continuously active diplomatic post, established in 1872. One of nine U.S. Consulates in Mexico, it serves a consular district comprised of Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas and the following municipalities in the state of Coahuila: Ciudad Acuña, Allende, Guerrero, Hidalgo, Jimenez, Morelos, Nava, Piedras Negras, Villa Union, and Zaragoza. All other parts of Tamaulipas and Coahuila, are covered by the Consulates in Matamoros and Monterrey respectively. The municipalities of Tampico, Cd. Madero and Altamira are in the Embassy's consular district.
