nterdiction data is based on individual interdictions reported by Coast Guard units. These interdictions mainly take place at sea, but also include rare instances where migrants are found ashore on remote islands/keys or pursued ashore from the sea. Known flow of migrants by sea is data is collected from various agencies and Coast Guard field units. See definitions. Source and Accuracy Statement for Migrant Interdiction DataThe interdiction numbers are updated after the most recent Coast Guard interdiction. Flow numbers for the month are updated when they become available. It typically takes an additional month to gather all the flow information.
