Many people who need long-term care will also need prescription drugs. There are programs that may offer you discounts or free medication.
For more information, look at the Prescription Drug and Other Assistance Programs section on this website, or call 1-800-MEDICARE (1-800-633-4227); TTY users should call: 1-877-486-2048.
Some states offer programs and specialized Medicaid demonstration programs. These programs make it easier for people with limited incomes and resources to qualify to get prescription drugs.
To find out what states have applied for the specialized pharmacy demonstrations look at “Pharmacy Plus” on the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services’ website.
