Midwest Region MIDWEST REGION ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS The Midwest Regional Office of the Federal Trade Commission has several full-time volunteer/school credit positions available for the Summer of 2001. All positions are for a 10-week tour of duty in the Midwest Regional Office located in Chicago, Illinois. The Midwest Regional Office is also accepting applications for law clerk positions from motivated first and second-year law students interested in litigation, investigation, and public policy in the areas of consumer protection and fraud. A background in economics is helpful, but is not required. We will also consider non-law students with other relevant training. The openings for Summer 2001 are volunteer positions. School credit may be arranged on a case-by-case basis. The students selected to participate in this program will have an opportunity to participate in a wide variety of activities under the general supervision of the Director and senior attorneys in the Midwest Office. Law clerks will work with attorneys and investigators in conducting investigations, assisting with ongoing litigation, interviewing potential witnesses, performing legal research, and drafting legal memoranda.
