The Office of Environmental Activities Mission

The Office of Environmental Activities was established to coordinate and oversee MARAD facility, activity, and program environmental compliance; work with the U.S. maritime industry, international and domestic organizations, federal, state and local legislative and regulatory authorities to establish economically sound environmental policies, laws, regulations and standards for the maritime industry; and promote a sound, environmentally responsible U.S. maritime industry.
