ISO 9000 Information
The ISO 9000 family of
standards for quality management and quality assurance is one of the
most successful in the history of the
ISO organization. The ISO 9000 core series was first
published by ISO in 1987. Today, more than 80 countries have adopted
the ISO 9000 series as national standards. The ISO 9000 standards
represent an international consensus on the essential features of a
quality system to ensure the effective operation of any business,
whether a manufacturer or service provider, or other type of
organization, whether in public or private sector. NMREC will
facilitate ISO registration for the maritime industry by identifying
registrars, providing pre-registration audit assistance as requested
