CONTRACTS

ARMY

American Ordnance LLC, Lexington, Ky., is being awarded an $11,627,645 delivery order amount as part of firm-fixed-price contract DAAA09-98-G-0011, to load, assemble and pack fiscal 2000 projectiles (155 mm, high explosive M107). Work will be performed at the Iowa Army Ammunition Plant, Middletown, Iowa, and is expected to be completed by June 30, 2002. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This is a sole source contract initiated on Dec. 8, 1999. The U.S. Army Operations Support Command (Provisional), Rock Island, Ill., is the contracting activity.

Harris Corp., Government Communications Systems Division, Melbourne, Fla., is being awarded a $7,499,922 modification to firm-fixed-price and time-and-materials contract DAAB07-95-C-A518, for the Lightweight Multiband Satellite Terminal (LMST) program, which provides tri-band super high frequency terminals. The LMST program will provide smaller, lighter, modular, more flexible terminals to meet the theater deployable communications requirement to provide initial long haul communications for bare-base deployment and augment communications as deployment matures. There are two configurations of LMST terminals; one configuration is housed in a trailer with an onboard power source, and the second configuration is packaged in transit cases without a power source. In this acquisition the contractor will produce the next generation tri-band nodal (hub/non-nodal/spoke) capable satellite terminal. Block 5 is an updated version of the current Block 4 LMST and is hub capable, uses a versa module eurocard (VME) architecture and has Ka-band receive capability. In addition to the non-recurring engineering necessary to develop, document, and design the hub/spoke trailer and transit case systems, the contractor will also build, integrate, test and deliver a six hub/one spoke Block 5 LMST first article trailer system. Work will be performed in Palm Bay, Fla., and is expected to be completed by May 31, 2001. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. There was an announcement on the Electronic Bulletin Board on Feb. 7, 1995, and eight bids were received. The U.S. Army Communications-Electronics Command, Fort Monmouth, N.J., is the contracting activity.

Clarke Detroit Diesel-Allison Inc.*, Cincinnati, Ohio, is being awarded a $6,472,225 firm-fixed-price contract for 443 transmissions and containers for the Heavy Expanded Mobility Tactical Truck (HEMTT). Work will be performed in Indianapolis, Ind. (75%); Henderson, Ky. (14%), and Madison, Ind. (11%), and is expected to be completed by Feb. 15, 2001. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. There was an announcement on the World Wide Web on June 28, 2000, and three bids were received. The U.S. Army Tank-Automotive & Armaments Command, Warren, Mich., is the contracting activity (DAAE07-00-C-S077).

CIVIL WORKS - NON MILITARY

Zachry Construction Corp., San Antonio, Texas, was awarded on Sept. 18, 2000, a $600,000 increment as part of a $32,815,296 firm-fixed-price contract for construction of a diversion channel, a tainter-gated saltwater barrier, navigation structures, an earthen dam in the Neches River, an administration building, and an access road. Work will be performed in Jefferson County, Texas (50%), and Orange County, Texas (50%), and is expected to be completed by Dec. 31, 2003. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. There were 57 bids solicited on June 20, 2000, and six bids were received. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Galveston, Texas, is the contracting activity (DACW64-00-C-0034).

IT Group, Monroeville, Pa., is being awarded $1,000 as part of a $5,915,495 firm-fixed-price contract for an environmental project to improve water quality. The project consists of constructing a pumping station, providing pumping units and auxiliary equipment, earthwork adjacent to the pumping station, miscellaneous civil work (access bridge), installing four pumps, diesel and electric motors, gear reducers and controls and providing miscellaneous related mechanical and electrical systems. Work will be performed in Broward County, Fla., at the end of Canal 11, Water Preservation Area 3, and is expected to be completed by January 31, 2002. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. There were 98 bids solicited on July 17, 2000, and five bids were received. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Jacksonville, Fla., is the contracting activity (DACW17-00-C-0039).

NAVY

Raytheon Aerospace Company, Madison, Miss., is being awarded a $79,607,964 indefinite-delivery requirements contract for maintenance and logistics support of the Navy's T-34C and T-44A aircraft. Work will be performed at the Whiting Field, Fla. (31%); Corpus Christi, Texas (29%); Bridgeport, W.V. (15%); Pensacola, Fla. (10%); Selma, Ala. (6%); Madison, Miss. (4%); Fallon, Nev. (2%); Virginia Beach, Va. (1%); Miramar, Calif. (.5%); El Centro, Calif. (.5%); Fort Rucker, Ala. (.3%); Patuxent River, Md. (.3%); Jacksonville, Fla. (.2%); and N.C. (.2%) and is expected to be completed by September 2001. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was competitively procured by an electronic request for proposals with seven proposals solicited and one offer received. The Naval Air Systems Command, Patuxent River, Md., is the contracting activity (N00019-00-D-0179).

ITT Systems, a division of ITT Industries, Inc., Kekaha, Hawaii, is being awarded a $30,324,184 modification to previously awarded contract N00604-98-C-0031 to exercise the second of nine options for fiscal 2001 under a combination cost-plus incentive fee/award fee and fixed price incentive fee/award fee contract for base and range operation support services. This contract includes a phase-in period, a base year, and nine option years, which if all options are exercised, will bring the total cumulative value of this contract to $308,002,439. The basic contract was awarded on August 13, 1998. Funding for this second option fiscal 2001 is subject to availability of funds. Work will be performed in Kauai, Hawaii, and is expected to be completed by September 2001. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The Fleet and Industrial Supply Center Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, is the contracting activity.

Computer Sciences Corp., San Diego, Calif., is being awarded a $24,594,380 indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract with cost-plus-fixed-fee pricing for research and development for command, control, communications, and intelligence (C4I) infrastructure engineering. Specific efforts include network engineering, security engineering, systems administration, security assessment, and product security certification for C4I systems. The contractor will be teaming with MAXIM Systems, Inc., San Diego, Calif. This will be a five-year contract with no options. Work will be performed in San Diego, Calif., and is expected to be completed by September 2005. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year.
