The American Registry of Pathology, Washington, D.C., is being awarded $14,578,850 (subject to availability of funds) as part of a $79,410,671 cost-contract for cooperative enterprises in medical research, consultation and education. The Lane Construction Corp., Meriden, Conn., is being awarded an $8,740,000 firm-fixed-price contract for a two-phase design/build/repair of the primary runway at Tinker Air Force Base. The existing Portland cement concrete keel section of the runway is to be removed and replaced and will include base, rapid drainage layer and Portland cement concrete. The existing asphalt concrete portion of the keel and runway edge will be milled and overlaid. Replacement of painted airfield pavement markings will be required on new pavement surfaces and existing pavement markings on the primary runway not disturbed by new construction will be painted over. Gulf Group Inc., Panama City, Fla., is being awarded a $7,908,501 firm-fixed-price contract to perform miscellaneous airfield improvements at Tyndall Air Force Base. The project includes milling and overlay of portions of the runway, extension of the overrun, concrete taxiway/runway repairs/replacement, shoulder construction, airfield lighting repairs/replacement, duct bank replacement, and airfield signage. Phasing will be required to minimize impact to airfield operations. Work will be performed at Tyndall Air Force Base, Fla., and is expected to be completed by Sept. 30, 2002. Raytheon Systems Co., St. Petersburg, Fla., is being awarded a $5,443,672 modification to firm-fixed-price with economic price adjustment and time and materials contract DAAB07-97-C-J437, to exercise the third-year option for 52 Joint Tactical Terminals (briefcase version) from the low rate initial production and full rate production contract for Joint Tactical Terminal/Common Integrated Broadcast Service Modules (JTT/CIBS-M). The contracts being awarded to these 13 companies are for Lot III of the Constructive Simulation domain, which includes wargames and automated simulations which represent actions of people and systems in the simulation as well as entity level force simulations and models. These 13 contracts are part of an overall effort to support the U.S. Army Simulation, Training, and Instrumentation Command (STRICOM) Program Managers in the areas of Training and Devices (TRADE); Combined Arms Tactical Trainer (CATT); Warfighter Simulation (WARSIM); and Instrumentation, Threats, and Targets (ITTS).
