FLAG AND GENERAL OFFICER ANNOUNCEMENTS

VICE ADMIRALS

Secretary of Defense William S. Cohen announced today that the President has made the following nominations:

Navy Vice Adm. Dennis V. McGinn has been nominated for appointment to the grade of vice admiral with assignment as deputy chief of naval operations, naval warfare, Office of the Chief of Naval Operations in the Pentagon, Washington, D.C. McGinn is currently serving as Commander, Third Fleet in San Diego, Calif.

Navy Rear Adm. Timothy J. Keating has been nominated for appointment to the grade of vice admiral and assignment as deputy chief of naval operations for plans, policy and operations, N3/N5, Office of the Chief of Naval Operations, the Pentagon, Washington, D.C. Keating is currently serving as commander, Carrier Group Five in Yokosuka, Japan.

MAJOR GENERALS

Secretary of Defense William S. Cohen announced today that the President has made the following nominations:

Army National Guard Brig. Gen. Willie A. Alexander has been nominated for promotion to the grade of major general. Alexander is currently serving as adjutant general, Alabama National Guard, Montgomery, Ala.

Army Reserve Brig. Gen. David J. Kaucheck has been nominated for promotion to the grade of major general. Kauckeck is currently assigned as the area support commanding general, 9th Theater Support Command, Fort Belvoir, Va.

BRIGADIER GENERAL

Secretary of Defense William S. Cohen announced today that the President has nominated Army National Guard Col. Carol Ann Briscoe for promotion to the grade of brigadier general. Briscoe is currently serving as commander, 70th Regiment (Leader), Maryland Army National Guard, Reisterstown, Md.
