PAYMENTS TO UTAH COUNTIES IN LIEU OF TAXES The Payments in Lieu of Taxes Act provides for payments to local units of government
containing certain federally-owned lands to assist in financing operations of local
government normally supported by taxes which are not collected from the federally owned
lands. These PILT payments supplement other Federal land receipt sharing payments
local governments may be receiving. Payments under the Act may be used by the
counties for any governmental purpose. |
