ARMY

 

The McCarty Corp., Austin, Texas, was awarded on Aug. 27, 2003, a $37,791,000 firm-fixed-price contract for construction of a separate battalions barracks complex, Phase III.  Work will be performed at Fort Bragg, N.C., and is expected to be completed by Oct. 1, 2006.  Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year.  There were 450 bids solicited on March 3, 2003, and seven bids were received.  The U.S. Army Engineer District, Savannah, Ga., is the contracting activity (DACA21-03-C-0019).

 

Chamberlain Manufacturing Corp., Scranton, Pa., was awarded on Aug. 28, 2003, a $17,841,855 modification to a firm-fixed-price contract for partial fiscal year 2003 metal parts option for the M795 projectile.  Work will be performed in Scranton, Pa., and is expected to be completed by Sept. 30, 2006.  Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year.  There were 17 bids solicited on Jan. 31, 2003, and one bid was received.  The U.S. Army Tank-Automotive and Armaments Command, Dover, N.J., is the contracting activity (DAAE30-03-C-1114).

 

Raytheon/Lockheed Martin JAVELIN Joint Venture, Tucson, Ariz., was awarded on Aug. 29, 2003, an $11,509,104 modification to a firm-fixed-price contract for 116 tactical rounds, 30 command launch units, three enhanced producibility basic skills trainers and 30 battery coolant units.  Work will be performed in Tucson, Ariz. (60%), and Orlando, Fla. (40%), and is expected to be completed by March 31, 2006.  Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year.  This was a sole source contract initiated on Oct. 29, 1999.  The U.S. Army Aviation and Missile Command, Redstone Arsenal, Ala., is the contracting activity (DAAH01-00-C-0108).

 

ECI Construction Inc., Stilwell, Kan., was awarded on Aug. 29, 2003, an $8,693,972 firm-fixed-price contract for construction of a force protection plan, Phase II.  Work will be performed at Fort Bragg, N.C., and is expected to be completed by May 22, 2005.  Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year.  There were 400 bids solicited on June 12, 2003, and two bids were received.  The U.S. Army Engineer District, Savannah, Ga., is the contracting activity (DACA21-03-C-0022).

 

The Davis Group Inc., Sanford, Fla., was awarded on Aug. 29, 2003, a $7,090,842 firm-fixed-price contract for construction of a soldier support center, Phase I.  Work will be performed at Fort Bragg, N.C., and is expected to be completed by April 30, 2005.  Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year.  There were 250 bids solicited on June 9, 2003, and six bids were received.  The U.S. Army Engineer District, Savannah, Ga., is the contracting activity (DACA21-03-C-0021).

 

The Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co., Akron, Ohio, was awarded on Aug. 29, 2003, a $6,545,500 firm-fixed-price contract for 380 T150F track set modification kits for the M113 family of vehicles.  Work will be performed in St. Marys, Ohio, and is expected to be completed by Jan. 31, 2005.  Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year.  There were three bids solicited on April 29, 2003, and three bids were received.  The U.S. Army Tank-Automotive and Armaments Command, Warren, Mich., is the contracting activity (DAAE07-03-C-N155).

 

NAVY

 

Progeny Systems Corp., Manassas, Va., is being awarded a $12,952,262 cost-plus-incentive-fee, maximum-price contract for the Phase 3 Small Business Innovation Research production of the AN/WLY-1 Active Intercept & Ranging (AI&R) System.  This contract will allow Progeny Systems to begin AI&R production and modernization of Active Intercept Acoustic Signal Processing Systems onboard Virginia, 688/688I, Seawolf and SSGN class submarines.  Work will be performed in Manassas, Va., and is expected to be completed by January 2004.  Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year.  The contract was not competitively procured.  The Naval Sea Systems Command, Washington, D.C., is the contracting activity (N00024-03-C-6219)

 

Raytheon Co., Portsmouth, R.I., was awarded a $12,900,000 firm-fixed-price modification on Aug, 28, 2003, to previously awarded contract (N61331-00-C-0044) for procurement of two MH-60 towed bodies.  Work will be performed in Portsmouth, R.I., and is expected to be completed by August 2005.  Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year.  The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Coastal Systems Station, Dahlgren Division, Panama City, Fla., is the contracting activity.

 

AIR FORCE

 

Raytheon Missile Systems, Tucson, Ariz., is being awarded a $11,592,309 firm-fixed-price contract to provide for Paveway II laser guided bomb kits (GBU-10, GBU-12), a quantity of 815 each.  Total funds have been obligated.  This work will be complete by February 2005.  Solicitation began February 2003, and negotiations were completed July 2003.  Headquarters Ogden Air Logistics Center, Hill Air Force Base, Utah, is the contracting activity (F42630-03-C-0286).

 

Aerojet General Corp., Sacramento, Calif., is being awarded a $7,204,309 cost-plus-fixed-fee contract that will provide the Air Force Research Laboratory Propulsion Directorate, Edward Research Site, Edwards Air Force Base, Calif., with development and validation of analysis tools and data needed for solid rocket motor components that will meet integrated high payoff propulsion technology Phase III goals.  Phase III missile propulsion component analysis and assessment program/solid rocket motor modeling program will be supporting the sustainment of development capabilities for strategic propulsion technology.  The boost and orbit transfer goals of this program will be to improve mass fraction, specific impulse, hardware cost, operational cost, support cost and stage failure rate.  At this time, $319,000 of the funds has been obligated.  Further funds will be obligated as individual delivery orders are issued.  This work will be complete by May 2006.  Solicitation began November 2002.  The Air Force Flight Test Center, Edwards Air Force Base, Calif., is the contracting activity (F04611-03-C-0043).
