"Made in USA" Workshop
In light of the Government shut down
due to the snow storm for the week of January 8,
1996, the staff have informally extended the dead
line for written comments and requests to participate
in the workshop through the close of business on
January 22, 1996.
- Request For Public Comment in Preparation
for Proposed FTC Workshop on the Use of
"Made in USA" Claims in Product
Advertising and Labeling
- The Federal Trade Commission announced that it
will conduct a comprehensive review of consumers'
perceptions of "Made in USA" claims in
product advertising and labeling. As part of this
review, the Commission will invite
representatives of consumers, industry,
government agencies, and other groups to attend a
public workshop to exchange views on the issues.
Among other things, the Commission will be
determining (i) whether it should alter its legal
standard regarding the use of unqualified
"Made in USA" claims, and (ii) how
domestic content should be measured under any
future standard.
Environmental Marketing Guides (Green Guide)
- FTC Workshop on Environmental Marketing
Guides Rescheduled for December 7-8 in Washington
- The dates for the public workshop-conference to
be held as part of the FTC's review of the
environmental marketing guides have been changed
to December 7 and 8, 1995, from 8:30 am to 5 pm.
The public workshop-conference which had been
scheduled for November 13 and 14, will be held at
FTC Headquarters, Room 432, 6th Street and
Pennsylvania Avenue, NW, Washington, DC.
