DOD HOSTS ASIAN PACIFIC AMERICAN HERITAGE MONTH OBSERVANCES
The Under Secretary of Defense for Personnel and Readiness, David S. C. Chu, will host a luncheon and awards ceremony tomorrow in celebration of Asian Pacific American Heritage Month. The event will be held from noon until 2 p.m. EDT at the Crystal Gateway Marriott Hotel, 1700 Jefferson Davis Highway, Arlington, Va. Chu is the keynote speaker for the event.
The program will include a salute to fallen Asian American and Pacific Islander heroes; music by the United States Air Force Strolling Strings; and a presentation of awards to outstanding military servicemembers who have demonstrated significant leadership and service in the Asian Pacific community.
The luncheon is being held in conjunction with the Federal Asian Pacific American Council's National Leadership Training Conference, Congressional Seminar, and Job Fair. The details of the conference have been posted at http://www.fapac.org [no longer available].
