GSA provides transportation management services to federal departments and agencies throughout the world. Those services involve both freight and household goods transportation.

Freight transportation includes:

Household goods transportation includes personal relocation by:

• Moving companies;
• Freight forwarders, and
• Third party relocation firms.

GSA's transportation management functions and activities are assigned to transportation management zone offices throughout the country. The zone office account managers assist agencies with fulfilling their freight and household goods transportation requirements. As the account manager, GSA is responsible for working with the agencies to define agency transportation service requirements and to develop any customized tenders for the solicitation of rates and services.
