E-Training Web Site to Greatly Expand On-Line Classes For Federal Workforce

Washington, DC – Today the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) and the U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM) unveiled the second module of the Gov On-line Learning Center that will offer a greater selection of on-line courses for the federal workforce.

“Today's launch of additional virtual courses through the GoLearn.gov Web site is an important next step in providing E-Learning services to government employees around the world. I congratulate the many agencies that are working cooperatively for the benefit of every federal employee and for the benefit of the American taxpayer, to whom we are proving that government can mean efficiency and effectiveness," said Mark Forman, Associate Director of E-Government and Information Technology at OMB.

E-Training, one of the President’s E-Gov initiatives, provides a single point of on-line training and strategic human capital development solutions for all federal employees, reducing instructor and travel costs and improving human capital management. This important milestone provides additional on-line training opportunities for Federal law enforcers and senior executives in the Federal government through two new virtual campuses, the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center and the Federal Executive Institute.

E-Government is an integral part of the President’s Management Agenda to make it easier for citizens and businesses to interact with the government, save taxpayer dollars and streamline citizen-to-government transactions. A copy of the President’s E-Government strategy, which includes information on each of the E-Government Initiatives, is available on the OMB Web site at www.omb.gov.
