OPM Director Kay Coles James Announces
Latest USAJOBS Website Improvements
Website
has 66 million visitors logged and 600,000 online resumes
created
Washington, D.C. - U.S. Office
of Personnel Management (OPM) Director Kay Coles James today
announced the latest USAJOBS website improvements. The improvements
benefit job seekers who are registered with the USAJOBS job
search agent functionality to receive job announcements by
e-mail. With the latest enhancements, job seekers are now
receiving expanded information in their job search notices
including salary and closing date. This enhanced content gives
job seekers more decision making data right in their e-mail.
"The latest improvements to USAJOBS have
again been made because of user feedback," stated James. "We
constantly strive to make USAJOBS an easy to use job-seeking
tool, and having input from customers who use it is invaluable.
USAJOBS is a creative tool for the Government's recruitment
and hiring efforts."
Job seekers who wish to receive e-mail
notification of new job openings can sign up on the USAJOBS
website, www.USAJOBS.opm.gov,
and create up to five job search agents to receive a daily,
weekly, or monthly notice of matching job opportunities as
they are posted to the website. In May alone, OPM sent 3,009,175
e-mail notices to registered USAJOBS job seekers.
"The ability to receive, by e-mail, notices
of new job openings is one of the most popular features of
the USAJOBS website," James stated. "One of the major goals
of USAJOBS is to provide a helpful, useful resource for those
considering careers in the federal government. By continually
upgrading the system, we feel we are providing an excellent
customer service, as prescribed by President George W. Bush
in his Management Agenda."
OPM closely ties user feedback with customer
satisfaction of the USAJOBS website, and customer satisfaction
is continuously monitored using the American Customer Satisfaction
Index (ACSI). As of June, the ACSI achieved a new quarterly
score of 76. This represents a three point gain over last
quarter and a 5 point gain over OPM's first score last year
of 71 (September 2003).
As a testament to its history of continuous
improvement and attention to customer satisfaction, usage
of USAJOBS continues to grow. Since OPM implemented the enhanced
system last August, job seekers have logged more than 65 million
visits to the website and created over 600,000 new online
resumes.
"An increased number of posted resumes
is proof that USAJOBS is an effective tool for job seekers,"
James stated. "It also shows that public service work is in
the minds of thousands of Americans."
Under James' leadership, OPM has demonstrated
its commitment to exceeding the expectations of federal job
seekers by continuously improving the USAJOBS website. As
part of President Bush's Management Agenda e-Government initiative,
Recruitment One-Stop, USAJOBS is the premier website tool
for finding federal jobs, and is the main source of information
on federal occupations.
