You are cordially invited to visit the USGS Center for Coastal & Watershed Studies to celebrate Earth Science Week. The annual USGS Open House hosts both the general public and education groups over two days in October at our USGS research facility near downtown St. Petersburg.
Come tour our expanding facilities, learn about our ongoing research, and meet our scientists and staff. We will have a wide range of displays showing Florida geology, coral reefs, native fish & wildlife, hurricanes, and much more. Many displays are hands-on and provide fun for all ages.
This year's theme is "Living on a Restless Earth." Click on the links below to learn more about hazards that occur on our restless planet: earthquakes, volcanoes, floods, tsunamis, landslides, hurricanes and extreme storms.
