Langley dedicates building to air power visionary
3/29/2004 - LANGLEY AIR FORCE BASE, Va. -- Air Combat Command will dedicate a building in honor of an air power visionary during a ceremony here at 2 p.m. March 30.
The ACC Conference Center will be dedicated to Gen. Bill Creech, who served as the commander of Tactical Air Command from May 1978 to November 1984. His wife, Carol, will attend the dedication by Gen. Hal M. Hornburg, commander of Air Combat Command.
General Creech, a command pilot, had experience in 40 different military fighters, cargo and reconnaissance aircraft. He received 39 military decorations, including 22 separate awards for combat bravery during his 38 1/2 year career. He passed away Aug. 26, 2003.
