Forest Products IOF Portfolio

The Industries of the Future process helps to ensure that scarce R&D resources are strategically allocated to maximize benefits. ITP provides cost-shared funding to selected R&D projects that address industry's priorities as well as national goals for energy and the environment. Projects focus on potentially high-payoff technologies that are too risky or costly to attract adequate private funding.

Forest Products IOF
The Forest Products Industry of the Future R&D portfolio has been restructured to align with energy-saving opportunities in the industry. The new technology focus areas target the four manufacturing processes that offer the greatest potential for energy savings in the pulp, paper and wood products industry:

  • Enhanced Raw Materials
  • Next Generation Mill Processes
  • Improved Fiber Recycling
  • Wood Products.

Related ITP Research
Research directly related to the forest products industry is also being conducted in other ITP programs.
