Real Property Evaluation and Outreach

GSA develops programs, methods and techniques to assess agency efforts to implement governmentwide policies.

EVALUATION: Evaluates and assesses the effectiveness of policy implementation and delegations and whether it is producing desired results. Develops and evaluates new tools and techniques to improve and streamline the implementation of policy.

OUTREACH: Conducts customer forums to share experiences and ideas. Evaluates customer satisfaction with policies, techniques, tools, and other products and services provided to its customers. Coordinates user agency input into policy development and evaluation to gain consensus. In providing customer information and training, disseminates advice and guidance about new policies, conducts policy briefings, and sponsors forums, working groups, and information exchange programs.

Plans, coordinates, convenes, and documents meetings of the Federal Real Property Council, which consists of senior officials from all customer departments and agencies. Ensures the involvement of the council in significant policy issues, exposes members to leading-edge systems and processes employed by industry and government throughout the world, and encourages their leverage in support of key decisions and initiatives impacting real property. Guides the development of publications to ensure adherence to the standards, effectiveness, efficiency, and high quality; maintains the common look and feel and the document structure of the office web site and responds to inquiries on content, appearance, and operation related to the web site. Coordinates relationships with industry and associations.

LEGISLATION: Develops legislation and reviews, analyzes, and comments on legislation proposed by other agencies affecting real property, and prepares testimony for use in legislative hearings.

BEST PRACTICES: Designs and conducts the annual real property awards program and uses that program to stimulate innovations and to highlight and share best practices with the entire federal real property community.

CASU PROGRAM: Promotes the use of Cooperative Administrative Service Units (CASU) among federal agencies.
