Smarter Solutions For A Better Environment

GSA has partnered with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Department of Energy (DOE) to offer the federal community a broad range of energy efficient products.  GSA wants to assist in efforts to meet energy reduction goals by offering a variety of energy efficient and water conserving products. When customers buy these products from GSA, they are meeting the requirements established by the Energy Policy Act, FAR Subpart 23.2, Executive Order 13123, Executive Order 13221.

GSA makes these items available to federal buyers through the GSA Multiple Award Schedules (MAS) program.  Customers can gain access to an up-to-date listing of schedule vendors that are participating in the MAS program by searching on GSA Schedules e-Library  web site. 

Customers should keep in mind that schedule vendors are not required to offer only 'energy efficient' items and are therefore strongly encouraged to request that schedule vendors identify Energy Star compliant products, or other energy efficient products, in their pricelists and product catalogs prior to placing an order.

The GSA Environmental Products and Services Guide,  is a major source of information about the thousands of environmentally oriented products and services, including energy efficient products and energy services, that GSA makes available to help federal agencies meet their environmental requirements. 

In addition, GSA has identified energy efficient products in its on-line purchasing system on GSAAdvantage! ® with either the EPA/DOE Energy Star label, or a EE symbol.

These designations signify that those products meet or exceed the energy efficient criteria for federal government purchasing that were established by the EPA/DOE Energy Star Program or the DOE Federal Energy Management Program Efficiency Recommendations.

To find out what GSA has to offer, visit GSAAdvantage! ® web site.  On the web site, click on Advanced Search, then type in the zip code for the delivery destination.  Having entered the Advanced Search module, click on the box entitled "Energy Star Items" or "Energy Efficienct Items" and type the name of the desired product in the Advanced Search box.
