VISITING WASHINGTON D.C.
Tours of the
White House have been greatly limited due to enhanced
security procedures. At this time, the White House will
only consider Congressional tour requests for groups of
10 or more. These requests may only be submitted one-month
in advance, and are placed in a “lottery”
type drawing along with requests from all 435 members
of Congress and 100 United States Senators. Although we
make every effort to accommodate tour requests, it may
not be possible to visit the White House during your visit
to Washington, D.C. Nevertheless, many options are available
to you, and I would encourage you to take advantage of
the other tours that are offered.
Once a tour request is submitted, the White House Visitors Office selects tour groups to be admitted for tours one month before the scheduled tour date. Requests for tours can not be submitted more than six moths in advance.
While I make every effort to accommodate tour requests, it is not always possible. However, the White House Visitor Center and Museum Shop, which is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily, is located at 1450 Pennsylvania Avenue, N.W.
Dear Visitor:
Welcome to Washington,
D.C. and your United States Congress! Millions of people visit
Washington every year, and it’s no wonder. This is an exciting
and beautiful city. The museums, monuments, buildings, and
culture of Washington capture much of the history and spirit
of the American experience.
Washington has much to
offer visitors, but it can be confusing to those who have not
spent a great deal of time here. Below, you will find
information about points of interest which will make your time
here more rewarding. In addition, you can request an
information packet from my Washington office which includes
public tour information, maps and brochures about the
Washington area.

Points of Interest click here.
My office will send you tour information as soon as
we receive your completed form. I would like to do everything
possible to ensure that your visit to our nation’s
capitol is an enjoyable one. During your visit, please
stop by the office to say hello, or to pick up free
gallery passes which allow you to observe debate on
the House and Senate floor.
If you would like me to reserve a
tour, please fill out and submit the form below.
Please try to submit the form to my office as early as possible. This is especially important during the peak tourist season between March and October. Many of the tours that accept
Congressional reservations become booked more than three months in advance,
especially during the summer months and around major holidays.
Fields marked with an (*) asterisk are required.
Please note: Due to the number of requests we receive, we can only accommodate
residents of the 29th District of California.
To find your Congressional Representative obtain your full
nine digit zip code and check the Write
Your Representative database. If you are not from the 29th District, please contact your Representative for tour
reservations.
If you have any questions please feel free to contact my office at (202) 225-4176. I hope you
have an enjoyable and memorable visit.
Sincerely,
Congressman Adam Schiff
