Frequently Asked Questions about the Yellow Fever Vaccination Center Registry

According to International Health Regulations, only certified yellow fever vaccination providers can give yellow fever vaccinations. Until now, it was not always easy to find a provider who was authorized to administer yellow fever vaccine.

The new Yellow Fever Vaccination Center Registry helps simplify the search. Over 1,500 providers in 35 states are currently listed, and providers from other states are being added all the time.

Finding a provider nearest you is easy: search by zip code, or choose from a list of states, or just click your state on the United States map on this page. You will get a list of providers that you can then sort by city or county if you choose. If the registry has no listings for your state, it will direct you to the state health department’s web site so you can contact them for help.

If you’re unsure about what yellow fever is or why you need a vaccination, be sure to read the yellow fever information sheet. Outbreaks of yellow fever disease continue to be reported in both South America and Africa, and the habitat of the mosquito that spreads the disease continues to expand.

The registry serves everyone. While it helps travelers find vaccination centers, it also helps states and territories track their certified providers. It speeds communication among health providers, states and territories, CDC, and vaccine manufacturers, especially if there’s a need to contact everyone quickly about a vaccine or disease issue.

The registry is a continuing collaborative project of all 50 states and territories and the Division of Global Migration and Quarantine at CDC. For more information, see Frequently Asked Questions about the Yellow Fever Vaccination Center Registry.
