Welcome to the Department of Energy's Office of Worker Advocacy

The DOE's Office of Worker Advocacy (OWA) is committed to providing former employees of the Department's contractors and subcontractors access to the Physicians' Panel Process. Applicants who receive a positive finding from their physicians' panel can use this finding in their State Worker's Compensation Program to receive benefits from their respective state. Our resource center personnel are available to help with these processes. OWA is also dedicated to providing timely and thorough information to the Physician Panels and to the Department of Labor and the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health for those aspects of the Energy Employees Occupational Illness Compensation Program Act (EEOICPA) administered by those agencies.
