Updates on Fire
Despite early winter like conditions, updated mapping indicates an increase of 5,600 acres. The fire will continue to be monitored.

Overview
Fire started outside of Evansville, AK and experienced extreme fire behavior and rapid growth. The fire burned into Gates of the Arctic Park and Preserve on July 12. Fire is burning in a Critical Management Option.
