Process Engineering and Life-Cycle Analysis

Process engineering and analysis of biomass conversion technologies is carried out to support research, development and demonstration projects to convert lignocellulosic biomass to fuels, chemicals and power. Activities include developing conceptual process designs, conducting technical, economic and life cycle assessments, evaluating research and developmental results, identifying areas for future research and development, and supporting engineering designs for demonstration plants. This ongoing effort combines the resources of federal, institutional and private groups to help streamline the biomass conversion research effort.

We've posted the current analysis along with recent reports and older reports on this topic.
