Technical Abstract: A software tool that incorporates biochemical models of C3 and C4 photosynthesis, models of stomatal conductance and the energy balance model was developed for several C3 and C4 species (roses, potato, rice, and maize). This tool is intended for researchers, teachers and growers to identify and demonstrate the effects of environmental factors on leaf gas exchange of the species. The environmental factors whose effects can be examined include solar radiation, ambient [CO2], air temperature, wind speed, and relative humidity of the air (or vapor pressure deficit). Users are allowed to add, update and modify the existing database of species information such as photosynthetic parameter values as needed. This tool generates both text and graphical output of the simulation results. Expansion of the software to include a broader range of species is discussed.
