Technical Abstract: Avian retroviruses, namely avian leukosis and reticuloendotheliosis viruses and Marek's disease virus (MDV), an alphaherpesvirus, are the most common naturally occurring viruses associated with economically important virus-induced neoplastic diseases of poultry (5,18,19,20). This review is primarily aimed at addressing current status and future challenges regarding control of these three important viral infections of poultry.
