HIV Vaccine Awareness Day

REAL PEOPLE. REAL PROGRESS.
"I'm working to stop a killer."
Join me on Tuesday, May 18th for HIV Vaccine Awareness Day. Wear your red AIDS ribbon upside down to form a ā€œVā€ ā€” as a sign you share my vision for an HIV preventive vaccine. Showing your support for HIV vaccine research shows you appreciate all the people working to make progress to stop this killer, HIV.

May 18th 2004 marks the Seventh Annual HIV Vaccine Awareness Day. Community activities and media events around the country will highlight research advances; address challenges associated with HIV/AIDS; recognize volunteers who have participated in HIV vaccine clinical trials and underscore why preventive HIV vaccines will offer the best hope for controlling the AIDS pandemic; unveil the upside-down AIDS ribbon as a symbol of progress; and recognize the need for education.
