GSA is currently involved in several major acquisition initiatives:

• Acquisition Knowledge Management Portal;
• Construction Brain Trust;
• E-Marketplace;
• Performance Based Service Contracting; and
• Re-Engineer Federal Procurement Data System (FPDS).

Each initiative is considered to have a substantial impact on how contracting professionals will structure their contracts, report contract awards, manage their workload or be able to research and find information to use for any situation. 

Each of the major initiatives are in different stages of completion --- from planning to rollout.
