Mary Joy (MJ) Jameson of South Carolina was named the Associate Administrator of Communications on December 10, 2001. In her role as principal communications executive for the agency, Jameson serves as GSA's primary spokeswoman and will advise the Administrator on communications and all matters of general public interest.

In a career spanning 20 years, Jameson has held several senior level communications positions including senior vice president with the public relations firm Burson-Marsteller, vice president of communications at American Forest & Paper Association, special assistant for the U.S. Ambassador to France and director of public affairs/press secretary for the U.S. Department of Energy.

Jameson holds a bachelor's degree from Clemson University.
