The Nuclear Regulatory
Commission is upgrading its online Agencywide Documents Access and
Management System (ADAMS) to improve its functionality and performance.
The new software, ADAMS 4.0, will provide system users with several
new features and upgrades. Users will be offered enhanced printer
support and search capabilities.
The upgrade will require the ADAMS database to be completely rebuilt
and re-indexed. This process, including testing, is expected to
take approximately two weeks and is scheduled to begin during the
Labor Day weekend. During this period, the ADAMS Public Library
will still be available to the public and new individual documents
will be added daily, but groups, or document “packages”
will not. Users trying to retrieve document “packages”
will be able to call the NRC Public Document Room for assistance
where they will be provided with the information they need to retrieve
all individual documents contained within the “package.”
Other than this inconvenience, all ADAMS documents will be accessible
during the upgrade period.
Additional details about the upgrade are available at: http://www.nrc.gov/reading-rm/adams.html
on the NRC web site.
