NRC TO MEET WITH AMERICAN ELECTRIC POWER APRIL 12 TO DISCUSS D. C. COOK NUCLEAR POWER STATION SAFETY PERFORMANCE |

The Nuclear Regulatory Commission staff will meet on Friday, April 12, with representatives of American Electric Power Co. in to discuss the results of the agency's annual assessment of safety performance at the D. C. Cook Nuclear Power Station. The two-reactor facility is located near Bridgman, Michigan. The meeting, which will be the open to the public for observation, is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. in the Hampton Inn, 5050 Red Arrow Highway, Stevensville. Before the meeting is concluded, NRC officials will answer questions from members of the public. The performance period to be discussed is April 1 through December 31 of last year. A letter sent from the NRC Region III office to American Electric Power addresses plant performance during the period and will serve as the basis for the meeting discussion.
