NRC TO MEET WITH COMPANY TO DISCUSS NINE MILE POINT PERFORMANCE

The meeting, which will be open to the public for observation, is scheduled to begin at 1:30 p.m. at the plant's Joint News Center, which is located at the Oswego County Airport, County Route 176, Fulton, N.Y. Before the session is adjourned, NRC staff will be available to answer questions from the public on the safety performance of the Nine Mile Point plants, as well as the role of the NRC in ensuring safe plant operation.

The performance period to be discussed is April 1, 2001, to December 31, 2001. In addition, NRC staff will provide an overview of the agency's Reactor Oversight Process.
