The Brookhaven Graphite Research Reactor, or BGRR, is located at Brookhaven National Laboratory on Long Island, NY. It was the world's first research reactor constructed solely for the peaceful use of atomic energy. The BGRR operated from 1950 to 1968. Final decommissioning at this facility is now underway.
