Description
Venture capital represents an important source of funding for startup companies.
This indicator was designed to show the relative magnitude of venture capital
investments in a state after adjusting for the size of the state's economy.
The indicator is expressed as dollars of venture capital disbursed per $1,000
gross state product (GSP).
Data for this indicator were calculated for 1995, 1998, and 2001. Although
venture capital data are available for 2002, GSP values have not been released.
